한병도 더불어민주당 대표 직무대행은 6·3 지방선거 투표용지 부족 사태에 대해 이번 주 선거관리위원회 특검법을 제출할 것이라고 밝혔습니다. 그는 특검 수사 범위로 투표용지 인쇄 물량 축소 경위, 선거일 지휘부 보고 누락 및 지연, 선관위 내부 부패와 무능까지 포함시킬 것을 강조했습니다. 또한 국민의힘이 민주당을 배제하고 특검 추천에 참여하지 않도록 주장하는 것은 정치적 선동이며 어불성설이라고 비판했습니다. 한병도 대표는 오히려 대한변협 등 제3자 추천이 특검의 독립성과 중립성을 보장할 수 있다고 주장했습니다.
Lee Jae-myung, acting leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, said he would submit a bill for a special prosecutor this week to investigate the shortage of ballots in the June 3 local elections. He emphasized that the scope of the special prosecutor's investigation should include the circumstances surrounding the reduction in the number of printed ballots, the omission and delay in reporting by the Election Commission headquarters on election day, and internal corruption and incompetence within the Election Commission. He also criticized the People Power Party's argument for excluding the Democratic Party from participating in the recommendation for a special prosecutor as political agitation and nonsense. Lee Jae-myung argued that recommendations from third parties such as the Korean Bar Association could guarantee the independence and neutrality of the special prosecutor.
Han Byung-do, Penjabat Ketua Partai Demokrasi Bersama, mengatakan bahwa ia akan mengajukan undang-undang khusus untuk investigasi Komisi Pemilihan Umum (KPU) minggu ini terkait dengan kasus kekurangan kertas suara pada pemilihan daerah 6 Juni. Ia menekankan agar cakupan penyelidikan khusus mencakup latar belakang pengurangan jumlah kertas suara yang dicetak, kelalaian dan keterlambatan dalam pelaporan kepada pusat komando di hari pemilihan, serta dugaan korupsi dan ketidakmampuan di dalam KPU. Han Byung-do juga mengkritik klaim Partai Kekuatan Rakyat yang menyerukan agar Partai Demokrasi tidak terlibat dalam rekomendasi penyelidikan khusus sebagai provokasi politik dan omong kosong. Ia justru berpendapat bahwa rekomendasi dari pihak ketiga seperti Asosiasi Pengacara Korea dapat menjamin kemandirian dan netralitas penyelidikan khusus.
