The head of the Unification Church, a religious group, has been indicted on charges of "collusion between politics and religion" with the Yoon Suk-yeol government and faces a sentence of 13 years in prison from the Seoul Central District Court. The special prosecutor argued that the head provided political funds and engaged in improper lobbying to interfere in state affairs, calling it a serious crime that violates the spirit of the Constitution. The head denies all charges, claiming that it was the personal act of Yoon's former chief of staff. Yoon's former chief of staff was separately indicted and sentenced to prison for bribery. The verdict will be announced on the 31st of next month.
