Samsung Launches First WOLED Monitor and Two New QD-OLED Models

The two G80SH series monitors feature QD-OLED, while the slightly more affordable G73SH is Samsung's first monitor to use an LG Display WOLED panel. These monitors are currently available for purchase.
The G80SH was unveiled at CES and is now available worldwide in 27-inch and 32-inch sizes. Both models feature a flat panel with a 16:9 aspect ratio, 3840x2160 (4K) resolution, and a 240Hz refresh rate.
These models feature 4th generation QD-OLED panels, meaning they don't use the latest generation RGB stripe pixel technology. The monitors are designed for gaming and media viewing, where the triangular pixel structure is not a major issue. They support HDR10+ gaming and include HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.1 (80Gbps), as well as a USB-C port capable of delivering 98W of power.
Samsung states that both models come with a two-year warranty, including burn-in coverage. A matte screen coating is applied. The G73SH marks Samsung's first WOLED panel monitor.

Samsung's First WOLED Monitor
Rumors have proven true, and Samsung is now selling monitors that use WOLED panels from competitor LG Display. Similarly, Samsung's OLED TVs also mix QD-OLED and WOLED panels.
While LG has yet to respond in kind, rumors suggest they will launch their first QD-OLED monitor in the latter half of this year.
Samsung's WOLED-equipped G73SH boasts 3840x2160 resolution, a 165Hz (or 330Hz at 1080p) refresh rate, and HDR10+ gaming support. It is flat and comes with the same two-year burn-in warranty. Like the G73SH, it does not use RGB stripe pixels. This model is marketed as a gaming monitor.
It's noteworthy that these two Korean rivals have begun close collaboration in OLED technology, but this appears to be driven by competition with China. By investing in OLED instead of LCD, Korean companies are aiming to maintain their edge.
Samsung's Diverse OLED Monitor Lineup
The G80SH and G73SH (H denotes the 2026 model) join Samsung's existing extensive OLED monitor portfolio, with several older models continuing to be available in 2026.
While these three new monitors are priced at the higher end, we're starting to see significant price drops for OLED monitors during sales periods. Expect good discounts on Black Friday.
