The National Assembly's Special Committee on the June 3rd Local Election Voting Paper Shortage Incident is holding its second public hearing to investigate the truth. A total of 34 witnesses and 3 reference persons, including officials from the Central Election Management Committee, Seoul Metropolitan Government, Songpa-gu, Jeollabuk-do Province, and Wansan-gu Election Commission, will attend the hearing. In addition, Park Jeong-bo, Chief of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, Jin Myung-gi, Director of the Autonomous Innovation Division at the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, and Kim Seong-jun, Director of the Personnel Welfare Division at the Ministry of National Defense, have also been summoned as witnesses. Although the ruling and opposition parties have agreed on a procedure for recommending a special prosecutor for the Election Commission, the issue of whether to hold an open recount has not yet been decided, and it is expected that this issue will be discussed at the hearing. The Special Committee plans to adopt a report on the results after the hearing.
