DL Energy began its foray into the US power market in 2019 by participating in a new power plant investment for the Niles gas combined cycle power plant in Michigan, USA. DL Energy is currently the only domestic private energy developer investing in and operating gas combined cycle power plants in the United States.
The Niles gas combined cycle power plant is the first case to complete construction and commercial operation from the development stage with a generation capacity of 1085MW. In 2022, DL Energy expanded its business by acquiring a stake in the Fairview gas combined cycle power plant (1055MW) in Pennsylvania. The two power plants are recognized as top-tier power suppliers in the US power exchange based on their high generation efficiency and maintain stable operation and profitability.
DL E&C, which handles construction projects within the group, signed a contract for 'standardization design of Small Modular Reactor (SMR)' with X Energy on March 25th. Since then, it has been expanding into the SMR design field. Standardization of SMRs, considered next-generation reactors, is the design that forms the backbone of SMR construction and specifies how each facility within the power plant operates in conjunction. DL E&C is the first domestic construction company to directly perform standardization design. Through a strategic partnership with X Energy, DL E&C plans to lead the 4th generation SMR market.

I heard that Doosan is doing something, so DL is going to do something too, right?
It's clickbait because it's Chosun.
