The supply of housing completed in Seoul during the first half of 2023 decreased by 52.1% compared to the same period last year, with apartments decreasing by 58.4%. On the other hand, construction starts and pre-sales, which are leading indicators of housing supply, showed an upward trend. However, unsold houses after completion have also increased for two consecutive months, raising concerns about a short-term supply shortage. Nationwide, housing completions have decreased, but construction starts and pre-sales have increased. The proportion of monthly rent transactions rose to 68.4%, continuing the trend of monthly rent-centered transactions.
