President Trump announced through the peace committee he established that Hamas has agreed to complete disarmament. He emphasized that this is a monumental step forward for the continued peace and security of the Gaza Strip. Although Hamas has not yet officially responded, the organization, which has been in power for the past 20 years, declared its dissolution and opened the possibility of disarmament. If disarmament takes place, it is expected that a new governing body, the National Administrative Committee (NCAG), will take over administrative control and that peace and reconstruction in the Gaza Strip will be facilitated. President Trump mentioned the withdrawal of Israeli troops and the responsibility of international stabilization forces for the security of the Gaza Strip after disarmament.
