President Lee Jae-myung is accelerating the review of real estate policies after returning to Korea and is speeding up the preparation of housing supply measures scheduled to be announced this month. The government held a meeting with the construction and financial industries to actively reflect industry opinions and discussed necessary measures such as easing financial constraints for the expansion of apartment supply and relaxing construction regulations. Specifically, it was proposed to support financing for real estate PF project sites, expand the floor area standards for multi-family houses, and relax floor restrictions. The government is also considering using public land, state-owned land, military bases, etc. to expand housing supply and is examining the possibility of utilizing the green belt.
