The KBO canceled all professional baseball games from the 5th to the 6th due to safety concerns for players and spectators caused by the heat wave. This decision was made after the severe heat warning was issued in Seoul and Gwangju on the 4th, leading to the cancellation of the NC-Doosan and kt-KIA games. Subsequently, a spectator with underlying health conditions collapsed from heat stroke during the LG-SSG game held in Incheon, prompting the KBO to take action. The KBO plans to discuss comprehensive operational guidelines and safety measures related to the heat wave through an emergency executive committee meeting on the 6th. As of this year, a total of 15 games have been canceled due to the heat wave, and when combined with cancellations due to rain and other reasons, the number reaches 40 games.
