The Korea U-17 women's volleyball team decorated their debut match with a victory at the first World Championships in history. In the first match of Group D of the group league held in Los Andes, Chile, Korea defeated Puerto Rico 3-1 (25-10, 25-23, 19-25, 26-24). Player Son Seo-yeon, called 'Little Kim Yuna', led the team to victory with 28 points.
