Seven people, including a family, were attacked by hornets from a fallen beehive due to a sudden gust of wind at a campsite in Boryeong over the weekend. All victims received hospital treatment but are reported to be in no danger. Fire authorities analyzed that strong winds with instantaneous wind speeds reaching 12.1 m/s caused the tree to shake violently, causing hornets to emerge from the beehive and attack campers. The Chungnam Fire Department Headquarters warned that hornet stings are concentrated in the summer months and can threaten lives in severe cases.
