An incident occurred in Bongseon-dong, Nam-gu, Gwangju, where part of the railing on the rooftop of an apartment complex over 30 years old collapsed. Fortunately, there were no casualties in this accident. Fire authorities are presuming building aging as the cause of the accident and plan to conduct a detailed investigation after taking temporary safety measures. The total length of the railing is 20m, and part of it collapsed inward. The apartment complex has a scale of over 1,100 households.
