The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency investigated a group led by a computer engineering PhD for allegedly operating illegal pornographic and gambling websites. The group is accused of earning approximately 47.6 billion won in illicit profits over five years, luring users from the sexual exploitation site to the gambling site. Although they attempted to evade the investigation by using overseas servers and web security technology, the police apprehended key figures through cooperation with Interpol. Currently, illegal websites have been blocked and shut down, and the police are working to confiscate criminal proceeds and apprehend the remaining accomplices.
