President Yoon Suk Yeol received letters of credence from Michelle Steel, U.S. Ambassador to Korea, as well as ambassadors from Portugal, the United Arab Emirates, and Ireland at the Blue House on the 12th. During conversations with the ambassadors of each country, President Yoon urged them to play an active role in developing the ROK-U.S. alliance. Ambassador Steel promised to communicate broadly with the Korean government and people and work to enhance mutual understanding and friendly cooperation between Korea and the United States. Ambassador Sequeira of Portugal pledged to expand high-level exchanges and strengthen practical cooperation between the two countries, while Ambassador Al Suwaidi of the UAE stated his commitment to doing his best for the development of the special strategic partnership between the UAE and Korea. Ambassador Hoy of Ireland expressed his intention to use Ireland's position as a G20 invitee country and EU rotating presidency to communicate closely with Korea.
