The U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 3.4% in July compared to the same month last year.
According to the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics on the 12th (local time), the inflation rate slowed from June (3.5%) and matched expert forecasts compiled by Dow Jones.
The month-on-month increase was 0.1%.
