South Korea has a history of being invaded in the past, and its national goals should not be limited to simply surpassing Japan. Securing strong national defense capabilities is crucial, and this fundamentally stems from economic power. South Korea's GDP does not even reach the level of New York State in the United States, so it needs to further strengthen its economic power. However, economic power alone cannot guarantee safety. Thorough military training and the awakening of politicians and military leaders regarding security are also necessary. As a lesson from past wars, we must remember that complacency can actually lead to war. Considering that China, Russia, and North Korea possess nuclear weapons in Northeast Asia, and that Japan could potentially develop nuclear weapons within a few months, South Korea needs to explore ways to counter external nuclear threats. Securing nuclear potential as a means of strengthening national security should also be considered.
