In the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ebola deaths have exceeded 2,325 after three months since the outbreak was declared, marking the worst Ebola epidemic in the country's history. The total number of confirmed cases is currently 4,945, with a fatality rate of 47%. The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned that this Ebola outbreak is the second largest in history and is progressing at a rapid pace, potentially surpassing the 2014-2016 West African Ebola epidemic. International organizations are urging for an expansion of Ebola response efforts and support for safe burials and strengthening treatment capacity. However, concerns are also being raised about the potential spread of other diseases such as measles, cholera, and malaria due to the focus on Ebola response.
