The runway of the Abu al-Judeir military airport in northwestern Syria was damaged by an Israeli airstrike early on the 18th. Syrian state TV reported that the Israeli army carried out eight strikes, and while there were no casualties, material damage occurred. The airport is currently occupied by Syrian Ministry of Defense troops, with Turkey recently undertaking reconstruction work. Israel declined to comment on the airstrike, and Turkey also remained silent. This attack is analyzed as a move by Israel to curb Turkey's growing influence in Syria, and it could be the first Israeli air strike in Syria since March.
