Saga City in Saga Prefecture, Japan, used unidentified photos of local air raid damage from the Pacific War in its "Peace Photo Exhibition." The photos were problematic because they showed daylight-like scenes despite the fact that the actual Saga air raids took place at night. The organizers acknowledged that there was insufficient verification of the photo sources and suspended the exhibition. The photos are suspected to be those of air raids on Kagoshima City, another region. Saga City has been holding an annual "Peace Festival" to raise awareness about the horrors of war and encourage reflection on peace.
