The National Alliance for the Abolition of Discrimination Against People with Disabilities (Jeonjangyeon) decided to completely halt its subway boarding protest during commutes after consultations with the Democratic Party of Seoul Metropolitan Council. This is because the Democratic Party of Seoul Metropolitan Council promised to pass an ordinance guaranteeing the mobility rights of people with disabilities and providing jobs. The Democratic Party plans to deliberate and approve an ordinance on September 11th that includes measures such as operating all buses in Seoul as low-floor buses and expanding special transportation services such as disabled taxis. Jeonjangyeon has stopped the subway protest but will continue the bus protest on Wednesday, checking whether Seoul City's promise to introduce 100% low-floor buses is being kept and working towards the enactment of the 'Transportation Rights Guarantee Act for the Disabled' at the National Assembly level.
