Iran has clearly conveyed its position on the Strait of Hormuz to the United States through Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff. Iran argues that the United States must return to the Islamabad Agreement and, in particular, comply with all provisions of the agreement, including Article 5, which defines Iran's rights and actions within the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has stated that it will consider reopening negotiation channels if these conditions are met. Pakistan is currently working to convey Iran's demands to the United States.
