Recently, I had a crash and hurt my knee badly. I crashed on an uphill, and I hit the hanger (rear derailleur) area hard, so the hanger bent. I looked for where to buy a replacement, but there was nowhere else but AliExpress. So I bought it from AliExpress and was doing it myself at home, but I installed the derailleur incorrectly, and the hanger and derailleur threads got a little damaged. When I went to the shop, they said this needed to be serviced... At first, I bought one from AliExpress, but the shipping was slow, so when I placed this order, I got 5 of them. The hanger came incredibly late, but since I had a riding schedule on Saturday, I brought the hanger with me. I went around the area for some errands and came back, and the shop owner asked if I had crashed, saying why there were no scratches on the derailleur. When I looked, all the original scratches and scuffs, as well as the scratches and scuffs that came from the crash, were all gone. I was like, what's going on? And it looks like instead of just replacing the threads like they should have, they replaced the entire derailleur. This is my TMI ㅎㅎ
In conclusion, because of the thread-related problem, I left it for service and a new one arrived...
They might have done it out of laziness on their part, but it doesn't cost more than a few ten-thousand won, and at this level, it's a huge benefit!
