Samsung launches 'AI Great Transformation'... "Will seize and lead opportunities in the AI era"
Samsung announced on the 9th that it is embarking on an 'AI Great Transformation' that will fundamentally revolutionize Samsung's way of working and organizational culture by comprehensively introducing AI to all operations across all affiliates.
Lee Jae-yong, Chairman of Samsung Electronics, said in this year's New Year's address, "We must fundamentally change our way of working and organizational DNA," emphasizing that "AI must be integrated into the entire value chain of all operations including R&D, production, marketing, and support."
In the 1990s, amid the massive change of digital transformation, Samsung made proactive changes and bold investments to leap from the 'domestic market' into a global company.
In the AI era, Samsung is embarking on a major innovation not only introducing AI to all operational processes, but also transforming the organizational DNA itself—the way presidents, executives, and employees work, and organizational culture—to be AI-centric.
Samsung, which has captured opportunities for new leaps amid change and crisis, is now beginning earnest challenges to seize and lead opportunities in the AI era.

In response to rapidly changing business environment, Samsung plans to officially introduce external generative AI services such as Gemini, ChatGPT, and Claude across all affiliates during June.
The company plans to focus on operational innovation by extensively applying AI across all business areas including software and marketing productivity enhancement, development, and manufacturing.
Furthermore, Samsung will position AI not as a new technology or simply a business improvement tool, but as an innovative methodology that triggers fundamental changes in management, and actively utilize it as a starting point for discovering new growth momentum.
While preparing detailed operational policies considering diverse job types and organizational characteristics, Samsung plans to continuously enhance services and policies so that employees can more efficiently utilize the AI they need.
"CEO's AI Literacy Determines AX Success"... Samsung provides intensive AI training to all presidents and executives, aims to complete training for all employees by end of 2026
Samsung plans to conduct 'AX(AI Transformation) Boot Camp,' an intensive AI education program, for all presidents of affiliates.
This is the first time Samsung will provide intensive AI education to all presidents.
Under the recognition that 'CEO's AI literacy determines the success or failure of AX,' management will directly engage with AI and undergo practical, hands-on training to integrate it into operations.
Training for approximately 50 presidents of all affiliates will be conducted at Samsung HRD Institute's Hoam Hall over two days in June.
Executive training for all affiliates will be held from now until August 12, with approximately 2,300 executives undergoing 2 nights and 3 days of training at Samsung Electronics Talent Development Institute and Samsung HRD Institute's Creativity Hall in separate sessions.
Samsung will use this presidents and executives training as a starting point for company-wide AX innovation and plans to continue regular additional training so that management can redesign operations based on AI and lead organizational innovation.
Training will also be provided to all Samsung employees beyond presidents and executives, with plans to complete it by the end of 2026.
An executive who completed the education said, “I was honestly surprised to learn how easy and much AI can do when learned systematically,” and added, “I felt a sense of urgency and crisis that we need to fundamentally change the way we work in the field right away.”
Leadership Team to Announce Joint 'AX Vision' Embodying a Sense of Crisis and Execution Will
Samsung's leadership team plans to announce a joint 'AX vision' at the 'AX Boot Camp'.
Amidst the global industry paradigm shift towards AI, the leadership team will emphasize the urgent need for fundamental transformation in work methods and mindset. They believe that without such a change, any company could be instantly outdated.
Furthermore, during the AI education period, the leadership team will go beyond passively receiving training and present their own ideas for 'innovating each business process using AI'.
Establishment of AI Task Forces in All Affiliates, Full Adoption of External AI and Related Security Systems
Samsung also plans to establish AI task forces in all affiliates. These task forces will be responsible for developing AX implementation strategies tailored to each business unit, managing data and model operations, and nurturing AI talent. They will play a crucial role in maximizing the group's overall AX momentum.
Samsung will allow the full use of externally generated AI while building a sophisticated security system to achieve both 'expansion of AI utilization' and 'risk control'.

Samsung Aims to Become an 'AI Native Company' Through CEO-Led Innovation
Samsung has been leading the market by introducing AI-powered products such as the Galaxy S24 series, the world's first AI phone, and AI home appliances and AI glasses.
Following its establishment of an AI ecosystem through products and services, Samsung plans to completely transform its organizational DNA based on AI.
A Samsung representative stated, "Samsung has overcome enormous changes and crises, such as the digital transformation and mobile transformation, through bold challenges and innovation. We have become a world-class global company." They added, "'AI Transformation' is the starting point for innovation to become an 'AI Native Company'. We will seize opportunities and lead in the AI era."
To achieve this goal, the CEO will strongly lead management innovation by applying AI to eight major business processes. This will drive a significant transformation towards becoming an innovative company through AX.
