When I ride, here's how I do it
1. When I overtake a bicycle in front of me, I say 'passing on the left' and gradually increase my speed to pass.
Then any rider (whether on a regular bike or a child) will stay still.
(In the case of a child, I say 'older brother passing on the left~' and pass slowly without increasing speed)
Even when riding at speed, if I see a bicycle ahead, I reduce my speed.
To prevent accidents. You don't know what the person in front will do, right?
When you reduce speed and start again, the flow breaks and it takes more effort. But you came out to exercise anyway.
For that extra effort and broken flow, just think of it as catching your breath for a moment, ease off the pedals, reduce speed and re-accelerate and that's it
2. There are pedestrians on the bike path?
Pedestrians don't know. They might not know. It's not something you learn in basic education. Before riding a bike, were we even interested in bike paths?
When there's a person standing in the middle of the bike path, I reduce my speed and pass while telling them 'This is a bike path~~~' and then they all move out of the way quickly
To reduce speed and start again takes more effort.
It can be frustrating too. But if they don't know, you can just tell them.
You can slow down and stop for a moment and go, it's not like you're racing or setting a record. Just think of it as taking a brief rest and reduce your speed
There's no need to yell and startle pedestrians and zoom past at high speed on the side. A bicycle is like a car
If there's an accident, the bicycle suffers the biggest damage. Money and body both
3. According to the law, bicycles should ride on the far right side of the road. The right side is in bad condition? There's a lot of stuff on the ground? Either report it to the local government or slow down and go slowly.
Why are you coming all the way to the center of the road?
Sometimes there are unavoidable obstacles or circumstances where you have to come out for a moment
But continuously riding in the center of the road is just a nuisance and deserves criticism
When you criticize fixies like that, you seem like you have nothing else
The 'just me alone' attitude seems very selfish.
