I participated in the Daegu Ironman this weekend, and I was kicked in the right chest by another swimmer's breaststroke kick. I felt a sharp pain and my breath stopped for a moment, so I rested against the lane for a while before finishing the race.
On Monday, when I went to work, I felt feverish and had chest pain every time I breathed, so I went to the hospital today. The X-ray showed that my breastbone was normal, but there was tenderness in a specific area and pain when breathing, so I had an ultrasound and was finally diagnosed with a rib fracture ㅜㅜ. I was really getting better... The doctor said it wasn't a complete fracture, but a slight fracture of the costal cartilage, and told me to rest from exercise for two weeks. Is the doctor exaggerating a bit??
I'm wearing a chest protector all the time now, and after taking the prescribed medicine, I feel better.
The doctor explained that it wasn't like a wooden chopstick breaking cleanly, but rather like it was about to break, so I believe I will recover soon!!
Now that the weather is summer, I plan to relax for a while by spreading a mat on the Han River and sunbathing. Then, I'll run like a dog!
Everyone, please take care of your health!!
