I'm traveling to Jeongseon-Samcheok for the early May holiday.
It took 6 and a half hours just to come from Seoul to Jeongseon yesterday ㅠ
(I left at 6:30 in the morning, why is everyone so busy~)
It's supposed to rain tomorrow, so today is the only day I can ride!~
I came to Yeongwol-Manhangjae once last year, but this time I planned a course starting from Jeongseon.
Sabuk-Highone-Dumundong Pass-Manhangjae(Taebaek Sangjangdong)-downhill toward Eopyeong Pass-Manhangjae(Gurae-ri)-Sabuk..
The distance is 90km, half uphill and half downhill. The elevation gain is around 2300m...
Dumundong Pass has a tunnel, so on the old road you can ride smoothly uphill without any cars. It feels similar to when I went to Yeongwol Yemilli Pass last year. Of course, the difficulty is higher though..
Manhangjae is difficult to climb from any direction, but the Gurae-ri direction is longer so even though it's the last uphill, you don't run out of energy as much. Today I didn't meet anyone on a road bike, just many MTB riders who park at the summit and ride gravel.
After riding I tried to go to Gangwon Land sauna to relax my body but parking was hell-_- so I changed it to tomorrow morning and I'm just lying around at my accommodation haha
For those riding during the holidays. Fighting everyone.
