NV Race Day 27c short review

Hello. I'm 173cm / 62~64kg, a rider with an FTP of 257W based on Raidaruck.

It was so hard to find reviews of ENVE Race Day, so I'm leaving a short review after replacing them and riding about 100km on public roads (Labor Party headquarters + waterfall tour, Haebangchon) :)

Previously, I used TPU tubes with Pirelli P ZERO Race TLR RS 28C on the Envy Pro wheelset on both front and rear with tire pressure set to 60 / 65.

Recently, I had a puncture at Bunwon-ri even though the tire had mileage left, and after replacing the TPU, I got another puncture the next day, so I decided to replace the tires and switch to a tubeless setup.

Currently, I've kept the existing Pirelli 28C on the front but converted it to tubeless, and replaced the rear tire with ENVE Race Day 27C, so I'm operating both front and rear tubeless. I'm using tire pressure of 50 / 55.

Overall, I definitely feel it "performs well." Initially, there was a slightly slippery feeling, but it seems to be more about the tire's tendency to roll smoothly rather than actually lacking grip. The feeling of rolling smoothly across the road surface has become much stronger, and especially on short uphill intervals or sudden acceleration sections, I feel better directness compared to before.

Since it became so smooth that you can feel it while riding, I was worried about whether there was insufficient grip during cornering or hard braking, but there was no sense of the line collapsing or feeling unstable. It felt like a difference that comes from the characteristics of a race tire, and when I applied hard rear braking, it actually felt less slippery than the previous TPU setup.

However, since I've only ridden about 100km so far, I think I need to ride more to judge durability and puncture-related issues. I heard from people around me that the sidewall is weak, so it's been a somewhat funny(?) day where I keep checking every time I stop. ㅋㅋ

Since there are concerns about the sidewall durability of ENVE Race Day tires, I'm thinking of replacing the front tire with Continental Archetype 30C in the future.

I'm planning to operate the setup with a bit more stability and durability in the front, and performance with ENVE in the rear.

+ Since tires are so expensive, I think I'll regret it when I ride Zone 2 or LSD,,, ㅋㅋㅋㅋ,,,
