When I first started cycling, I thought I'd go for a high-end bike right away! and looked for one. Round lightweight bikes were ugly, but aero bikes were really pretty.
Men are all about speed! I yelled, only to deeply regret it later. They were pretty, but heavy, so it was too hard to get up to 30 mph. And uphill? Forget about it.
Then I test rode a super lightweight round bike and it was a whole new world. It was so easy to reach 30 mph, and uphill was much easier too. But whenever I went over 30 mph, I needed more power. But since my power is weak, I never really needed to go that fast anyway.
But today, I rode 40 km at an average speed of 35 mph on my aero bike and I'm completely hooked on the charm of aero bikes. I bought it because it looked nice, but afterwards I wondered if I should switch to a lightweight bike. My friend said to buy the lightest one possible.
But when I reached 35-40 mph, I couldn't forget the feeling of skimming the ground. It felt like I barely needed any power to maintain my speed.
Of course, there was hardly any wind...
For people like me, try building up your power and endurance before trying an aero bike. If you enjoy riding on flat roads, you'll be captivated (although there are many high-level riders in the cycling world...).
While I was riding, I saw a super senior rider pass by on a y1rs Black Horse. He was so cool! His posture, speed and power... wow... I envy him. It seems like only seniors should ride those kinds of bikes.
