Yesterday I went to test ride the new 2026 Cannondale.
To start with the conclusion... I couldn't actually test ride it (because I forgot essential items...) but! This is a review after spending an hour touching it, examining it, and tinkering with it while fully(?) enjoying it.
First of all, the core of this new model is definitely the aero handlebars.
This isn't just at the level of "good"... it's the kind of thing that makes you think "Should I buy this?"
I've been riding the previous generation Cannondale SuperSix EVO for about 3 years, so I didn't have high expectations for the ride feel. (I upgraded to SRAM e1)
But my thoughts completely changed when I felt the handlebars.
The new SRAM levers are good, that's true,
but when you grip at the bottom, there's a slightly awkward section when operating the lever, you know?
(though it varies depending on the handlebars)
And at the top, there's a subtle inconvenience with the gap between the lever and handlebars...
The new aero handlebars don't have that.
And the reach... this is really no joke. It feels almost like TT bars.
When you put your hand up, your wrist stretches comfortably, and that sensation of reaching forward... that "Huh...? This is completely a TT position?" makes me laugh to myself ㅋㅋ
You could say it's the feeling of your arm settling comfortably onto the handlebars.
The frame, to sum it up in one word: "Wow, it's sleek."
I was admiring the smooth, clean lines...
But here's the problem: the Tarmac pink frame that was on display at the top.
The moment I saw it, my hand was already going for my card.
The color of the new Tarmac is truly beautiful..
"Ah... why am I like this..." I keep thinking, but it keeps lingering in my head.
I still can't forget it ㅠ
Overall, this new model feels like "there's really nothing lacking."
But there's just one downside...
The price has definitely gone up quite a bit. I understand since Reserve wheels are included instead of the previous Hollowgram wheels, but
honestly, I wish the price were lower with the previous Hollowgram wheels... that's my lingering regret.
The whole bike is great, but I definitely crave those handlebars.
I can sum this up as a review.
