I went to the Jeosureong Gran Fondo with my close junior friend, just the two of us..
The original plan was for the two of us to cross the finish line together warmly and affectionately,
but is that as easy as it sounds? haha.
My junior, being a bit of a chubby rider and terrible at uphills, shouted "Please just leave me behind and go!"
So with a heavy heart (written as heavy, read as gleeful), I left him behind and pushed ahead...ㅋ,.ㅋ;
Right after passing the finish line, I called him,
"Where are you???"
"Hyung, I've already arrived and I'm receiving my medal."
(Huh??)
Turns out...
He had given up on Munchi Pass, went straight, completed the Challenge B course, and made it back..
Junior: "This is a memento too, why don't we get it engraved~~"
Me: "Sure, why not?!!"
So clutching our local gift vouchers tightly, we stood in line and got the engraving done....
Me : Challenge A Time 04:48:17 (roughly)
Junior : Challenge A Time 04:47:03 (roughly)
Huh???
What in the world?????
Going by the official time engraved on the medal.... my junior beat me.....? ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
At this rate... there will be no official record anywhere showing that I was faster than my junior.ㅠㅠ
Thinking it couldn't be real, I accessed the site sent to me via text and checked,
and sure enough, the time was recorded exactly like that????
It seems like people who had registered for A but dropped out mid-way and switched to B all had their times recorded as if they completed the A course...
it seems..
Even if this is a non-competitive event where simply participating is the point,
there is still pride between the two of us, so how could you give us official records like this...ㅋㅋㅋ;;;;
Sigh.....
It feels like I'm being punished for humming a little tune and happily betraying him when he told me to leave him behind...ㅋ
And so...
I strongly demand of the Gran Fondo organizing company!!
"Strip my junior's record, correct it to Challenge B, and repost it!!" "Repost it!!"
"Protect my pride, protect it!!"
ㅎㅎ........
(Everyone, you all know this is... not a joke....right....? ㅋㅋㅋㅋ)
