A student at UNG named Syarifah Aslamiyah reported the Head of the Department of Communication Science to the Ombudsman because she was prohibited from taking the thesis exam. Syarifah felt that her rights as a student were not fulfilled and she suffered material and immaterial losses due to this policy. The Head of the Department, Citra FIL Dano Putri, denied the prohibition and stated that Syarifah had never done thesis guidance with her supervisor. According to Citra, Syarifah's failure to graduate was due to neglect of the academic process and non-compliance with the deadlines that had been set. This case is still under investigation by the Ombudsman.
