A Chinese group made about 700 million won in profit through cheating and taking the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) for others. They advertised on Chinese social media, delivered answers to test takers through small earphones, or hired surrogate test takers. Surrogate test-taking was commissioned for about 8 million won, and cheating test-taking for about 2 million won. Police have indicted key members of the organization, but B, the head of the organization, has not yet been apprehended. The case came to light when a test supervisor found a transmitter hidden on a test taker's neck.
