The Baejae High School baseball team was penalized for chanting slogans that mocked the democratization movement during a game against Gwangju Jeil High School. The Korea Baseball Softball Association's Fair Play Committee imposed a six-month suspension from competition and forfeiture of remaining Blue Dragon Flag games on Baejae High School, but the Korea Sports Council's Sports Fair Play Commission reduced the suspension period to one month upon reexamination. As a result, Baejae High School will be able to participate in the Phoenix Grand National High School Baseball Tournament to be held next month. The Baejae High School baseball players received leniency based on their apology and the forgiveness of the victims.
