Foreign currency deposits by domestic residents in June increased by approximately $1.08 billion, reaching a maximum in four months. The main reason for this is the record increase in dollar deposits by corporations. Despite the rise in the won/dollar exchange rate, corporate dollar deposits increased significantly due to factors such as an increase in securities company customer deposits and inflows of export current account funds from large corporations. On the other hand, individual dollar deposits showed a downward trend due to the rise in the exchange rate.
