Perry Warjiyo resigned as Governor of the Bank of Indonesia (BI), and Destry Damayanti, Senior Deputy Governor of BI, was appointed as Acting Governor of BI according to the P2SK Law. The selection of a new BI Governor will be carried out through the President's proposal to the DPR with a maximum of three candidates. The DPR has one month to approve or reject the proposed candidates. If rejected, the President is obliged to submit new candidates. To become a member of the BI Board of Governors, someone must meet requirements such as being an Indonesian citizen, having high integrity, and expertise and experience in the fields of economics, finance, banking, or law.
