The Ministry of Communications and Digital (Komdigi) has reprimanded YouTube for live streaming content that features vape promotion involving minors. This practice is considered a serious violation of child protection and cannot be tolerated. Komdigi asked YouTube to review and take action against the content, as well as strengthen the content moderation system to prevent similar content from appearing in the future. If YouTube does not respond to the reprimand within three days, the government will impose administrative sanctions which could include fines up to access termination. Komdigi is committed to continuing to monitor digital content and ensuring that digital platforms carry out their content moderation obligations responsibly to protect children in the digital space.
