The special prosecutor of the National Election Commission, scheduled to launch in early next month, is expected to investigate allegations such as a shortage of ballot papers, forced vote counting, and manipulation of election statistics that occurred during the local elections on June 3rd. In particular, 12 items including overseas trips by NEC officials, preferential hiring and promotion, preferential contracts with specific companies, and collusion with those companies are included in the investigation. The special prosecutor's office is expected to determine whether the manipulation of voting statistics was done according to the guidelines of the Central Election Commission, and whether the leadership was involved in the policy decisions that led to a shortage of ballot papers. It also appears that allegations of "concentrating work" on family businesses of former NEC executives will be included in the investigation.
