According to industry sources on the 14th, LG Display is coordinating the specifications of sputtering equipment and supplier quantities to be invested in the AP5 LTPO process. Equipment introduction has been confirmed. It is reported that it is at the stage of finalizing the configuration among multiple specifications.
AP5 is a 6th generation line built for LTPO TFT production for Apple iPads. Mass production began in 2024. It is also being used for OLED production for smartphones recently.
LG Display is currently injecting about 15,000 glass substrates per month into the Paju AP5 line. With the construction of a new line with a scale of 7,500 units per month targeting operation in 2028, the input volume is expected to increase to around 22,500 units per month.

This order is a follow-up measure to LG Display's announcement of an OLED new facility investment of 1 trillion 100 billion won last April. The investment period is until June 2028. The goal is to expand the production base so that next-generation small and medium-sized OLEDs can be developed and mass-produced at AP5.
