Surabaya has welcomed a new addition to its luxury hospitality scene with the grand opening of The Trans Luxury Hotel Surabaya on 14 August 2026. The grand opening at the hotel’s Grand Ballroom welcomed a distinguished gathering of business leaders, partners and prominent figures. Among the guests were Chairul Tanjung, Founder and Chairman of CT Corp; Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Governor of East Java; Emil Dardak, Vice Governor of East Java; Tri Rismaharini, former Minister of Social Affairs; and Mohammad Nuh, former Minister of Education and Culture.
The evening began at the Grand Ballroom Foyer, where guests were welcomed and invited to capture the occasion at the GlamBot before making their way into the ballroom for the main celebration.
The festivities continued with a culinary parade, giving guests a first taste of the hotel’s gastronomic offering through a specially curated selection of dishes. At the heart of the evening was a seven-course Chinese set menu created exclusively for the Grand Opening, bringing together classic Chinese flavours with contemporary touches. The menu was crafted under the direction of Chef Chin Kah Wah, Executive Chinese Chef of The Trans Luxury Hotel Surabaya.
