Hyunjoon Cho, chairman of Hyungsung Group, filed a complaint against his brother Hyunmoon Cho, former vice chairman, on charges of coercion. Hyunmoon Cho, the former vice chairman, is accused of threatening Hyunjoon Cho by demanding an apology for spreading press releases claiming he contributed to the company's growth after resigning in 2013 and demanding an apology for defaming his spouse. Hyunjoon Cho argued in court that Hyunmoon Cho's actions were clear threats and sought punishment. He said he filed a complaint and prosecution to follow the will of his late father, former honorary chairman Seokrae Cho. Hyunmoon Cho's side maintains that it was only a warning against corruption, not a threat. The court decided to summon Hyunjoon Cho again as a witness on the 28th.
