Democratic Party of Korea leader Kim Min-seok announced at the first meeting of the 'Grand Unification Promotion Committee' that he aims for a winning grand unification and a sustainable grand unification, and will pursue internal cohesion along with recruiting talented individuals from various factions such as reform, centrist, and conservative. Kim appointed Park Beom-gye, Jin Seong-jun, Lee Hae-sik, Hwang Myung-sun, and Lee So-young as co-chairs of the respective subcommittees: Progressive Alliance subcommittee, Jo Kuk-heon Innovation Party Alliance subcommittee, Recruitment & Expansion subcommittee. He said that discussions with progressive forces will continue on election and political system issues, but the possibility of a merger with the Innovation Party is still uncertain. Kim showed his willingness to strengthen the party by actively recruiting talented individuals from various fields.
