The National Tax Service conducted tax investigations on 50 companies, including five large corporations, and uncovered suspicions of embezzlement amounting to approximately 1.9 trillion won. According to the investigation results, various cases were discovered where corporate funds were used for private purposes, such as providing residences for family members, offering exclusive villas for the chairman, and real estate speculation. For example, a high-end house worth over 20 billion won located in Hannam-dong was furnished with an interior design costing over 10 billion won and provided to the chairman's family. This confirmed that corporate funds were improperly diverted for personal gain. The National Tax Service plans to impose tax penalties on the related companies and pursue criminal prosecution if any violations of tax laws are found.
