Samsung Electronics unveiled four new Odyssey gaming monitors featuring world-first technology at Gamescom 2026, the world's largest gaming event, which opened in Cologne, Germany on August 26 (local time).
The company held a launch event titled "#PlaySamsung: The Next Era of Gaming Displays" at the Samsung booth on August 27 at 10:30 am (local time) to unveil the new products.

World's First New Technologies, A Dimensionally Different Odyssey Lineup for 2027

The newly unveiled Odyssey OLED G9 (G95SJ) is a 49-inch curved gaming monitor that supports a world-first 360Hz refresh rate. It features a fifth-generation QD-OLED Penta Tandem™ panel, a 0.03ms (GtG) response time, dual high refresh rate mode (dual QHD·360Hz, dual HD·720Hz), and a maximum brightness of 1,300 nits, providing an overwhelming gaming immersion.
The Odyssey OLED G8 (G80SJ) supports "triple mode," allowing users to choose from three resolutions and refresh rates depending on the game genre. It features a fifth-generation QD-OLED Penta Tandem panel and a fast 0.03ms response time, just like the Odyssey OLED G9. It offers a 4K resolution and a 360Hz refresh rate as standard, and users can also switch to high refresh rate modes (QHD·520Hz, FHD·680Hz) flexibly.
In particular, it supports DisplayPort 2.1 (UHBR 20), which can support up to 80Gbps bandwidth, enabling stable and lossless transmission of high-quality and ultra-high refresh rate video.
The Odyssey OLED G7 (G75SJ) is the world's first 42-inch OLED gaming monitor. Compared to its predecessor (32 inches), the display area has increased by approximately 72%, providing a more expansive screen experience. It features a 16:9 aspect ratio 1000R curved screen and supports a 0.03ms (GtG) response time. The 4K OLED panel incorporates HDR10+ Gaming technology to achieve optimal picture quality.
The Odyssey G6 (G60H) is a 27-inch monitor that supports QHD (2,560×1,440) resolution and a 600Hz refresh rate. In particular, when switching to dual mode with an ultra-high refresh rate, it supports a world-first 1,100Hz (HD resolution standard), enabling genre-optimized gameplay. It also features a Fast IPS panel that supports uniform color reproduction even in fast-paced game scenes and a 1ms response time, making it optimized for FPS games.
All four new models will support NVIDIA G-SYNC™ Compatible and AMD FreeSync™ Premium Pro. This ensures a smooth gaming experience without screen tearing or stuttering even in dynamic gameplay situations.

Expansion of Glasses-Free 3D Technology and Next-Generation Picture Quality "HDR10+ Gaming" Partnership

The immersive, glasses-free 3D monitor 'Odyssey 3D' will support 3D mode for 'Cyberpunk 2077' and 'Cronos: The New Dawn' by the end of the year. Samsung Electronics plans to significantly expand compatible games to over 120 by the end of 2026 through continuous strengthening of game software partnerships.
In addition, it will expand the ecosystem of 'HDR10+ Gaming' technology, which analyzes game scenes and frames to provide stereoscopic image quality. Through collaboration with Activision Blizzard, 'HDR10+ Gaming' technology has been applied to the FPS new work 'Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® 4', and plans to expand it to over 20 global blockbuster games by the first half of 2027.

Lee Hun, Vice President of Samsung Electronics' Visual Display Business Division, said, "At Gamescom, the world's largest game festival, we unveiled a wide range of next-generation display technologies, from the world's first 360Hz 49-inch OLED to ultra-high refresh rate gaming monitors up to 1,100Hz. We will continue to introduce innovative products that lead the gaming display market."
Meanwhile, according to market research firm IDC, Samsung Electronics achieved a market share of 17.8% in terms of value in the global gaming monitor market (refresh rate 144Hz or higher) in the first half of 2026, continuing its eight consecutive years as the leader.
