Kim Sung-rak, Director of the National Security Office at the Cheong Wa Dae, expressed support for the resumption of dialogue with North Korea and stated that he would cooperate with the United States to resolve practical nuclear issues and establish a peace regime on the Korean Peninsula. He emphasized the need to be cautious so that South Korea's security is not relaxed or undermined. He added that various current issues such as investment between South Korea and the US, Coupang, intellectual property rights, and information cooperation will be well-coordinated to strengthen the South Korea-US cooperative system. The director recently met with Wang Yi, Chinese Foreign Minister, and agreed to operate a dialogue channel regularly between the South Korean National Security Office Director and the Chinese Foreign Minister. They also agreed to cooperate in preparing for President Lee Jae-myung's participation in APEC. He urged China's cooperation in pursuing a peace coexistence policy, and Wang Yi said that China would continue to play a constructive role for peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula.
