Dollar deposits by domestic residents in July exceeded $100 billion for the first time, setting a record high. This is analyzed to be due to factors such as the receipt of operating income by large corporations and the inflow of funds from foreign currency bond issuance by securities firms. The increase in dollar deposits is the largest since June 2012 when statistics were compiled, and euro and yen deposits also showed an increasing trend. Corporate dollar deposits played a major role, and individual deposits also increased.
