A fire broke out with an explosion at Daewon Industrial Co., a local acid manufacturing company located in Cheonan City, South Chungcheong Province. The explosion shattered windows in the surrounding area and spread flames to nearby factories, causing significant damage. It took about four hours to extinguish the fire. Due to the nature of the factory handling flammable materials, the fire was difficult to put out even with heavy rain. As a result of the accident, one employee working in the cafeteria and two Filipino workers died, while another Filipino worker suffered burns. Police and fire authorities plan to investigate the cause of the fire.
