More than 8,000 reports of missing persons with developmental disabilities are received each year, and an average of 23 people go missing every day. People with developmental disabilities have a high tendency to leave their place due to anxiety about unfamiliar environments, but they are at high risk of going missing because they do not look different from adults outwardly and it is difficult to receive help from those around them. Pre-registration of fingerprints is important for quick handover in case of disappearance, but the current registration rate is low. In addition, it is necessary to diversify the methods of missing person alerts to encourage the attention and assistance of people around them.
