With the launch of the Public Prosecutors' Office on October 2nd approaching, the Supreme Prosecutors' Office has established processing criteria by classifying ongoing cases by type. Cases that can be processed quickly will proceed immediately, and cases that need to be processed within 90 days will be transferred to the police or the Major Crimes Investigation Division. In particular, cases with an impending statute of limitations or cases where a prosecutor has requested a warrant will continue to be investigated by the prosecutor for 90 days even after the revised Criminal Procedure Act comes into effect. Cases that have been suspended from prosecution will be processed through management and transfer procedures to prevent any work gaps. The Supreme Prosecutors' Office emphasized thorough preparation for the establishment of the Public Prosecutors' Office.
