Hello. I am a rider using the iGP 630S speedometer and sensors.
Recently, due to the incomprehensible handling of the AS center, I was unable to use a perfectly good sensor, so I am writing this article to share the absurd incident I experienced and to hear your opinions.
1. Beginning of the Incident (June 2025)
A speed sensor purchased in May 2024 continued to experience intermittent disconnections, so I sent it to the official AS center (Esx Ice Sports). At that time, the center's response was "There is no problem with the product," and I received the product back as is.
2. Situation After Receipt
After receiving it, since the sensor worked well, I thought that the Da*so battery I had replaced before might have been defective, and I used it without any doubt until March of this year.
3. Absurd Situation Encountered After 6 Months
Recently, while riding in the season, the battery ran out, so I opened the back panel to replace it, but I was surprised by what I saw.
The specification of the speed sensor is CR2025,
but the actual battery inside was CR2032 (a much thicker specification).
Since I have not replaced the battery after the AS service, it appears that the center forced a thicker battery that does not meet the specifications to solve the contact problem.
What's absurd is that because they forcibly inserted the thicker 2032 battery, the internal contact terminal was completely deformed. Now, if you insert a regular size 2025 battery, it doesn't make contact and doesn't work at all.
I don't know if it is common practice for the official AS center to ship products with "no problem" by inserting a thicker battery that does not meet the specifications because of poor contact.
