22일 업계에 따르면 국내 디스플레이 업계는 이달들어 아이폰18 프로, 프로맥스와 아이패드 미니의 OLED 패널 양산에 돌입했다.
폴더블 아이폰 OLED 양산도 이달 시작한다. 맥북 프로 OLED는 삼성디스플레이의 8.6세대 OLED 라인이 가동하는 다음 달부터 생산된다.
올해 하반기 출시하는 모든 제품에 탑재되는 OLED는 삼성디스플레이와 LG디스플레이, 국내를 대표하는 두 디스플레이 패널 업체가 전량 공급을 맡는다.
아이폰18 시리즈의 프로, 프로맥스는 삼성디스플레이와 LG디스플레이가 함께 공급한다. 중국 기업인 BOE는 아이폰18 시리즈에 대해서는 개발 프로젝트를 수행하지 않은 것으로 알려졌다.
업계 관계자는 “지난해 BOE가 아이폰17 프로 모델에 OLED 공급 승인을 받고도 품질 문제로 납품에 차질을 겪으며 지난 4월에야 공급을 재개한 만큼, 올해 하반기 아이폰 신모델에 대해서는 BOE가 개발에 나서지 않았다”고 말했다.
애플은 올해 폴더블 아이폰을 처음 출시하고 태블릿, 모니터 등 정보기술(IT) 제품군에서 아이패드 미니와 맥북 프로를 OLED로 전환하며 OLED 채택 제품군을 늘렸다. 이들 제품은 모두 삼성디스플레이가 단독으로 디스플레이를 공급한다. 애플워치12 OLED는 LG디스플레이가 전량 담당한다.
